Hello, here is a Larger very well defined and 100% natural Kosmoceras?? Pyrite Ammonite fossil or Pyritized Ammonite fossil that has been polished on one side! It has deep hollow chambers full of tiny shiny Druzy Pyrite crystals on the polished side and an IRIDESCENT RED/PINK flash in the center of the polished side and spots on the other side! It was quarried near the city of Saratov, Russia on the Volga River.
It is WAY nicer in person as it is difficult to get all of the true colors and red flash to show up in the photos! This piece has very fine definition with a shinny GOLD color and dates to the Upper Jurassic Period a Crazy! 161 to 145 Million years ago.
This Fossil measures a nice! 5.55cm or 2 3/16" at its biggest.
Please note that this fossil has no restoration...just split out of its host matrix with a hammer and polished.
