Ammonites vs Trilobites
Trilobites molted their skeletons and ammonoids / ammonites kept adding new chambers.
These fossils are said to be 300 million years old from the Cretaceous and Jurassic eras.
Both had skeletons of calcite and aragonite, which is pretty much the same as cave stone or stalagmites.
Pictures available online suggest that ammonites had tentacles, similar to an octopus, which flowed and paddled.
Biblical references say that ammonites were children of Ammon in the Old Testament.
Whether you have an interest in history or you just like aesthetically pleasing and interesting things,
ammonites are really beautiful and just like people, all are slightly different and great for display and
conversation pieces, lovely gifts that are unique for anyone.
As with all ancient artifacts, one can only assume their origin.
