Description

This Antique Chinese Petit Altar is Circa in early the 19th century. The intricate carvings of traditional Chinese "Phoenix Bird and Chrysanthemums" design decorate the front of the altar. The bottom apron was carved with a "scrolls, flute, chessboard, and longevity calligraphy" pattern. The cabinet is handcrafted and structured with wooden pegs and a tenon structure, which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. Original patina and wear. Copper Hardware. Made from Elmwood, the cabinet is very solid and has been kept in excellent condition.
