    Description

Very rare flown first day cover for the Edison Electric Light coil issue, #656, franked with 3 stamps including line pair.
    Cover details:
6/11/1929 #629 First day Washington D.C. postmark, with Roessler cachet, Mellone's Planty #2.  The three coil stamps overpay the {{detail_product_description}}.05 airmail rate.  The far right line pair is quite rare.  The cover, with a sealed flap, is addressed to the cachet-maker.
Condition is as shown in the pics.  The cover has some toning but is in quite nice shape.
The 2017 Brookman catalog values a regular mail cover with line pair and common cachet at 5.00.  Mellone's/Planty suggests a 1.5 multiplier for the Roessler cachet w/o the airmail feature.
I continue to list a number of airmail and FD covers every week. I distribute the listings between the US covers - "postal history", "event other", "event Naval", "first flight", and FDC categories, so please check my other listings (
