Hello, here is a larger very well defined and 100% natural Kosmoceras?? Pyrite Ammonite fossil or Pyritized Ammonite fossil that has been cut, polished on one side and Laquered on the other! It has deep hollow chambers full of tiny shiny Druzy Pyrite crystals on the polished side and was quarried near the city of Saratov, Russia on the Volga River.
Please note that it is WAY nicer in person as it is difficult to get all of the true colors to show up in the photos! This piece has very fine definition with a shinny GOLD color and dates to the Upper Jurassic Period a Crazy! 161 to 145 Million years ago.
This Fossil measures a nice! 7.32cm or 2 7/8" at its biggest. This fossil has no restoration...just split out of its host matrix with a hammer cut Laquered and polished.
