    This is a ULTRA RARE  fossil ammonite called Texanites gallica. It is around eighty million years old give or take five million years. It shared the world with the dinosaurs and it's species died out with them.
    It comes from the Upper Santonian Stage, Austin Chalk formation of Texas, U.S.A.
    It measures 5-7/8" wide, 4-7/8" tall, 1/2" thick and weighs 0.3 LBS. It has great  ribs and tubercles!  It has a no repair or artificial colors.It has a nice scallop at the center!
    I found, excavated, prepared and identified this ammonite and it
    has all of the paleontology, stratigraphy and locality information on the back.
